Laguna Blanca took a long road trip to Santa Cruz and defeated Harbor High, 25-6, 22-25, 25-15, 25-19 in a tune-up before Saturday’s Surf Invitational boys volleyball tournament.
Chris Costantino and Ryan Bickett each had 10 kills to lead the Owls attack. Ethan Katnic added nine and Jack Copeland eight.
“We played as good as a team that just got off a four-and-a-half hour van ride,” coach Dillan Bennett said. “We mixed in a bunch of guys into the lineups and competed with a good scrappy Harbor team.
“We are looking forward to playing some of the best teams in the central coast section in the Surf City invitational,” Bennett added. “We are set to play top ranked Mt. Madonna followed by Palma before playoffs begin.”
The Owls are 12-5 overall.
