The Bishop Diego boys volleyball team swept past Fillmore during a Tri-Valley matchup at home on Tuesday evening. The Cardinals defeated the Flashes by a score of 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.
“We really stepped up our level of play tonight in a crucial league match,” said Bishop Diego head coach Jason Donnelly.
The Cardinals were led by Austin Bohnett, who tallied 13 kills and seven digs while posting a flawless night in serve receive. Luca Jordano also contributed notably with seven kills, nine aces, and 10 digs. Brolin Parris had 20 assists and three kills while Sean Tetherow chipped in with 17 digs.
“They had major problems dealing with Luca’s jump serve tonight, leading to a couple of big service runs for us,” commented coach Donnelly.
With the victory, Bishop Diego improves to 8-6 overall and 7-2 in league. The Cardinals travel to face Carpinteria on Wednesday.
