Undefeated days from Kento Perera and Lars Scannell in singles was not enough for San Marcos on Wednesday in a 10-8 non-league loss to San Luis Obispo.
The Tigers claimed seven of nine doubles sets overall and protected their lead after winning the first round 4-2.
Lars Scannell played his most consistent tennis of the season, according to head coach Jarrod Bradley, sweeping his sets 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.
“Lars served well and won a lot of easy points on his serve today. He played smart shots and was aggressive to the net to finish off short ball.”
San Marcos (8-8) hosts Ventura on Thursday to close out regular season dual matches. The Channel League Individual Tournament is next week.
San Luis Obispo, ranked No. 6 in CIF Division 2, improves to 15-3 on the season.
