Rust wasn’t an issue for Santa Barbara High’s boys tennis team on Monday after a two-week hiatus from match play. The Dons immediately snapped back into form in a 16-2 non-league win over Campbell Hall.
“It was our first match in over two weeks so I was pleased to see everybody focused and playing at a high level,” said Dons head coach Greg Tebbe. “We have three more big matches this week and I think we are ready for the challenge.”
Jackson Powell and Miles Hale swept three singles sets each. The doubles teams of Taggart Mills/Tyler Greenwald and Jake Sutton/Max Mercurio produced three-set sweeps themselves.
The result improves Santa Barbara, ranked No. 8 in CIF Division 1, to 8-2 on the season. The Dons travel to Buena on Tuesday for a Channel League match.
