No. 6 Mira Costa shook off Dos Pueblos on Friday, 14-4, in a non-league match played at Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club.
The Chargers’ four wins were spread out. Miles Baldwin and Quinn Hensley took sets in singles. In doubles, the teams of Vincent Villano/Mason Dochterman and Joshua Wang/Bryce Ambrose each won theirs in a tiebreaker.
“At the end, we all shook hands and dined together at Ming Dynasty. I am proud of our Chargers who gave everything they had against this powerhouse team. The focus and movement were outstanding,” said Chargers head coach Liz Frech.
The Chargers (12-4, 5-1) host Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
