The Bishop Diego boys tennis team pulled out a hard-fought victory over Villanova during a league matchup on Tuesday afternoon at the Muni Courts. The Cardinals edged past the Wildcats by a score of 9-9 (78-68) .
Bishop was led by another solid performance from Spencer Ekola, who went 3-0 in singles. The Cardinals’ No. 1 singles player remains undefeated this season, extending his overall record to 27-0.
In the doubles department, Cameron Roberts and Jake Stratford-Jones went 3-0 on the day. The team of Cristian Vasquez matched with Jonathan Lindse went 2-1 respectively for Bishop.
With the victory, the Cardinals improve to 6-5 overall, 4-1 league on the season. Bishop Diego plays hosts to Foothill on Thursday.
