The Bishop Diego boys tennis team was defeated by Nordhoff 11-7 during a league matchup in Ojai on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cardinals were led by No. 1 singles player Spencer Ekola, who went 3-0 while improving his perfect record in competition to 33-0. Another Bishop singles player, Mikey Kelly, came back from being down 3-5 in tiebreak to beat Max Mendoza 7-6 (5).
In doubles play, the tandem of Cameron Roberts teamed with Cristian Vasquez went 2-1 on the day. The pair of Cameron Krul paired with Jonathan Lindsey picked up a win for the Cardinals against the Rangers’ No. 3 team.
With the defeat, Bishop Diego falls to 6-7 overall and 4-3 in league. The Cardinals head on the road to face Santa Clara on Thursday.
