Ameet Braganza picked up two key victories for Dos Pueblos on Friday that spurred the Chargers to an 11-7 non-league win over Stockdale.
Braganza made a rare appearance in the singles lineup and came from behind to win two sets 7-5. Miles Baldwin anchored the singles lineup with a 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 sweep. The Chargers were playing without No. 1 singles player Patrick Corpuz.
The doubles side did its part, securing five points for Dos Pueblos. Chris Lane and Joshua Wang claimed two sets 6-1, 6-4. Vincent Villano and Quinn Hensley also finished with two wins.
“I am proud of how our team performed,” said Dos Pueblos head coach Liz Frech. “In spite of some brand new partnerships, thrown together just before the line up, the players adapted and adjusted.”
Dos Pueblos, now 10-3 on the season, returns to Channel League play on Monday at Buena. Stockdale falls to 14-5.
