TRK: SB Track Club has strong showing at U.S. Indoors

BOSTON – After the first day of competition at the USA Track & Field Indoor National Championships, which saw Santa Barbara Track Club’s Barbara Nwaba and Lindsay Lettow claim podium finishes, 2nd and 4th place respectively, the SBTC men followed suit adding two more to the list of ‘nation’s best.’

SBTC rookie Thomas Hopkins, a 2014 Princeton University graduate, competed in his first multi’s national championship scoring 5,543pts and a 3rd place finish. While SBTC veteran Thomas FitzSimons followed up on his surprise 3rd place finish at last year’s Outdoor National Championships with a 4th place finish and 5,484 pts at this weekend’s Indoor National Championships.

The podium finishes represented an astounding half of the national championship multis podium, making a resounding statement as to the quality and character of the SBTC squad.

“The SBTC is celebrating its first anniversary and I couldn’t be any more proud of how far our squad has come in such little time,” commented SBTC Head Coach, Josh Priester. “We received our new SBTC uniforms the day before the competition and the cohesion and excitement all our athletes displayed made a strong statement in Boston.”
