The Dos Pueblos boys 800 sprint medley relay team took first place at the San Marcos Invitational track and field meet on Saturday and met the qualifying standard for the prestigious Arcadia Invitational next month.
The Chargers quartet of Blayke Harrison, DJ Sharpe, Aiden Gilkes and Cesar Flores did two 100-meter dashes, a 200 and a 400 in 1:37.74.
In other DP results, Daniel Nofrey and Josh Fry both cleared six feet to share first-place honors in the boys high jump, while Austin Lipp tied for third; DJ Sharpe finished second in the long jump at 19-10 and took third in the triple jump with a mark of 40-4; Harrison was second in the 100 in 11.72. In other relays, DP won the 4×800 (8:19.14) and took third in the 4×100 (44.59).
For the DP girls, the 4×100 relay came in third in 52.15; Carmen Villarruel was secondi in the pole fault at 10 feet and Sofia Janotti took third in the long jump with a leap of 16.01.25.
