The Carpinteria softball team was defeated by Cabrillo 11-1 in Lompoc on Tuesday afternoon.
“Though we started with a loss, we like our group and the potential to play at a high level,” said Warriors head coach Henry Gonzales. “We will eliminate the little mistakes and be a team to be reckoned with.”
Carpinteria was led by Natalie Saito, who went 1-2 with an RBI. Scarlett Pettine went 1-3 with a run scored for the Warriors.
With the loss, Carpinteria falls to 0-1 on the season. The Warriors hit the road to face Lompoc on Thursday.
