The San Marcos softball team suffered a 3-0 loss to San Luis Obispo on the road on Tuesday afternoon in the Royals’ season opener.
The Tigers scored two runs in the third inning and a final run in the 7th inning to top the Royals. All three of San Luis Obispo runners who scored had reached base on errors by San Marcos.
The Royals were led on the mound by Hailee Rios, who had 13 strikeouts and zero earned runs. The ace also went 2-3 while batting for San Marcos.
With the loss, the Royals fall to 0-1 on the season. San Marcos travels to Santa Maria to matchup with St. Joseph on Thursday.
