Lani Evans and Veronika Gulvin homered in Friday’s 4-0 victory for Dos Pueblos over Buena in a Channel League game.
Evans gave the Chargers a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Gulvin gave Dos Pueblos an extra cushion with a three-run home run in the top of the seventh. Sam Sander was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.
Gulvin was in the circle and struck out 10 Buena batters. Buena mustered five hits and Gulvin allowed zero walks. The defense behind Gulvin made some nice plays, including a long throw from right fielder Ali Milam to Kai Uyesaka at third base for the game’s final out.
The result improves Dos Pueblos’ league record to 2-1. Next up for the Chargers is San Marcos on Tuesday at home.
