Camarillo’s Emily Orosco kept Dos Pueblos quiet in the Chargers’ season opener on Wednesday in a one-hit 2-0 shutout.
Dos Pueblos’ lone hit came from catcher Jade Sinskul, a single in the second inning. Orosco was effective keeping the Charger bats off balance using a mix of velocity and movement.
Her counterpart, Lani Evans, pitched a complete game allowing just four hits. Camarillo gained a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning combining three singles and a wild pitch. Evans ended up striking out the side in the inning and finished with 11 strikeouts.
Dos Pueblos moves on to meet Oak Park in the first game of the Susan Manlet Tournament on Saturday in Simi Valley.
