Tatiana Requejo had four hits, leading the Carpinteria softball team to a pair of wins at the Santa Ynez Tournament on Saturday.
Requejo went 2-for-3 and Scarlett Pettine doubled and scored a run in a 2-0 win over Morro Bay in the first game. Freshman Amanda Blair pitched a conplete-game shutout, allowing two hits while walking five.
The Warriors beat Coast Union in their second game. Natalie Saito pitched and also drove in a run and scored a run. Requejo went 2-3 with a double and run and Mikayla Blair had two doubles and a run.
Carpinteria is 2-2 on the young season.
“It was a good day for Warrior softball,” coach Henry Gonzalez said. “We played excellent defense and hit the ball well. Natalie Saito and Amanda Blair were both very good on the mound. We took two big steps forward today. I was very pleased with our focus and concentration.”
