The Bishop Diego softball team was defeated by Foothill Tech 8-1 in its season opener on Thursday afternoon at Ventura College.
“Overall, I like the effort of the team, and the direction we are heading,” said Cardinals head coach John Ceriale.
Bishop Diego was led by Kara Murray, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Catcher Lindsay Bosio went 1 – 3 while calling a solid game from behind the plate.
Coach Ceriale held high praise for pitcher Isabella Gregson, who also went 2-for-4 while batting.
Bishop Diego plays their home opener versus Viewpoint on Tuesday.
