A seven-run sixth inning by Santa Clara doomed Bishop Diego on Thursday in a 12-3 loss to the Saints.
Santa Clara led 5-1 after five innings and put it out of reach with the big inning. The Cardinals helped the Saints’ cause with eight defensive errors.
Kara Murray and Isabella Gregson were 2 of 3 while Marissa Cordero and Lindsay Bosio added a hit each. The Cardinals were outhit 9-6 in the game.
I like how we kept playing and didn’t give up, competing to the end,” Bishop Diego head coach John Ceriale said. “We have two weeks without games to work on some things and get healthy.”
