Nordhoff kept Bishop Diego scoreless until the seventh inning of Wednesday’s 7-1 Tri-Valley League opener.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and made it 4-0 with three more in the bottom of the third. Nordhoff added a single run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
The Cardinals were held to five hits and committed three errors on defense. Isaias Reyes was 2-2 and Ben Gunther 2-3.
Luke Boyd was the winning pitcher for Nordhoff while Bishop’s Matthew Selman took the loss.
