Sean Nakano-West’s five shutout innings and an RBI single by Blake Katsev led San Marcos to a 1-0 victory over visiting Pacific Palisades on Wednesday.
Nakano-West struck out five batters without a walk. Palisades only got two hits off him. Nolan Cope pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh innings to record the save.
Katsev blooped his RBI single into left field with two outs in the bottom of the third inning, scoring Louie Shalhoob.
San Marcos improves to 3-2 and travels to Santa Barbara on Friday for the Channel League opener.
