Santa Barbara High fell behind 5-0 after three innings and never recovered, falling to Ventura, 7-3, for its second straight Channel League loss on Friday at Eddie Mathews Field.
The Dons fall to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in league. Ventura improves to 6-2, 2-0.
The Cougars jumped on Santa Barbara starter Trevor Moropoulos and handed him his first loss of the season.
Moropoulos accounted for two of Santa Barbara’s runs with a two-run homer.
Five Ventura players had two hits in the game.
Santa Barbara is back in action Saturday against Granada Hills in the Chatsworth Tournament.
