Chatsworth’s seven-run sixth inning doomed Dos Pueblos to an 8-1 defeat on Wednesday in an Easton Tournament game.
The game was scoreless until Chatsworth scored in the bottom of fourth inning after a leadoff double. Dos Pueblos tied it 1-1 in the top of the sixth on a single by Gio Macias, who reached third base on a double by Dustin Demeter and scored on a sac fly by Michael Boelter. Macias finished 2-for-2.
Chargers head coach Nick Katzenstein said that Boelter looked good in four innings on the mound to start the game.
“We were a play here or there from beating a very good ball club,” Katzenstein said.
Andrew Renteria had three hits and scored two runs for the Chancellors (2-0), who had 10 hits as a team.
Dos Pueblos (0-2) faces Taft on Thursday in another tournament game.
