Bishop Diego bats feasted on Friday in a non-league game against Dunn. The Cardinals finished with 20 hits in a 23-1 victory that was shortened to five innings.
The Cardinals scored in every inning, including a six-run second, a five-run fourth, and a seven-run fifth. RJ Cordeiro and Ben Gunther cleared the outfield fences for home runs while six players finished with multiple hits. Gunther was 3-for-4 with his home run and a double.
Matt Shotwell, Isaias Reyes and Michael Soracco all added three hits each. Matt Selman went 2-for-3 with a double.
Bronson Whitney earned the victory on the mound for Bishop Diego. The junior pitched four innings and freshman Will Goodwin finished up by throwing a scoreless fifth.
