A four-run second-inning sent Buena on its way to a 10-5 victory over Dos Pueblos on Friday in a Channel League game.
The Bulldogs scored all 10 runs in three innings. After their four-run second, the Bulldogs made it 7-0 in the top of the fourth, and, after Dos Pueblos rallied with four runs in the bottom half of the fourth, added three more in the top of the fifth for a 10-4 lead.
The Chargers scored their fifth run in the sixth inning. Dos Pueblos’ Gio Macias, Dustin Demeter and Luke Coffey all had two hits each. One of Demeter’s hits was a home run.
Nick Bero had two hits, two runs and two RBI batting leadoff for Buena. Jacob Valdez, Bryson Wallett and Derek Burns added two more hits each. Jonah Roca pitched four innings to earn the victory while Zane Chittenden finished the job with three innings on the mound.
Buena is 2-0 in league play while Dos Pueblos falls to 1-2.
