Freshman libero Casey Alper had a season-high 26 digs and SBCC hit nearly .300 on Friday night in a 3-1 men’s volleyball victory at Moorpark. The scores were 25-19, 25-12, 24-26, 25-12.
Taylor McCluskey notched 11 kills and Sean Reynaert had 10 kills with no errors and a stellar .667 hitting percentage. To’o To’o added eight kills, five blocks and hit .421 for the Vaqueros (8-4, 3-2 WSC). Moorpark fell to 1-8 and 1-4.
“We competed well and our transition offense was a lot better tonight,” said coach Matt Jones. “We served pretty well and kept ourselves in system for the most part.”
Kyle Smiley had 20 assists and Keaton Arutian handed out 17.
The Vaqueros will host Long Beach on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a key battle for third place.
