The Cate girls lacrosse team dominated offensively in the first half and never looked back in a 16-5 decision over San Marcos on Tuesday.
The Rams scored in the opening minute of the game, and thus set the tone for the first half.
Maddie Becker, Sam Hill, Brie Walker, and Lydia McMahon all struck in three goals on the day while Hill also had a 71 percent success rate on draws.
“This is a remarkably smart team eager and quick to learn. As a result, their LAX IQ is growing exponentially by the minute,” said coach Renee Mack. “I was most impressed with the improvement as a team on midfield defense and transitional play. Their passing down the field and on the attack continued to show self-less play, concentration and hard-work.”
The Rams improve to 2-0 with the win and will travel to Santa Barbara High on Thursday to play under the lights.
