Santa Barbara High rallied in the second half of Friday’s non-league lacrosse match with Thousand Oaks, falling to the Lancers 10-8.
The Dons outscored Thousand Oaks 5-3 in the second half. A goal by Tess Kriegman soon after halftime swung momentum in SB’s favor. Sophie Tate and Kate Mascari followed suit with a goal each.
Overall, Bella Gniadek led Santa Barbara in scoring with three goals. Sixtine Bellini played a key role filling in at the goalie position. The Dons’ best field defender played her first game as goalie after injuries to SB’s starter and backup in the past two weeks. Sabrina Loza and Katya Tasma-Rapp defended well according to coach Jeannette Biava.
