Laguna Blanca’s sand volleyball team topped visiting Marymount on Thursday by winning three out of five matches.
The teams of Josie Doughty/Laurel Kujan, Emily Lafitte/Kendall White, and Sarah Butler/Nicole Belton swept two sets each to claim points for the Owls. It was Laguna Blanca’s season opener
“Both Mike (Maas) and I are thrilled to see what we have been working on in practice show in games,” said Owls head coach Dillan Bennett. “Marymount had some big girls who could hit the ball on perfect sets, but our ball control and shot selection played a huge role in the win. This match should be a major confidence booster for the girls, who are competing every day for a spot in our 10 person varsity roster.”
Laguna Blanca plays again on Tuesday when the Owls host Santa Barbara High on Tuesday at their on-campus sand courts.
