With a balanced performance from the San Marcos boys golf team, the Royals were able to come out on the winning end of a 212-214 decision against Santa Ynez at the Alisal Ranch river course on Wednesday in a nine-hole match.
Chad Visser recorded the lowest score of the day for San Marcos shooting a 41, with the remainder of his team not far behind. Andrew Rice finished with a 42 and Bennett Reichard, Niels Andersen, and Chris Wong each tallied 43’s.
Santa Ynez’s Tanner Shean was awarded medalist after shooting an impressive 38.
The windy conditions will hopefully prepare the Royals for the Championship Invitational at Terra Lago on Saturday.
