The San Marcos boys golf team defeated Arroyo Grande 392-404 in a season opening victory on Tuesday at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
“This was a good opening match for us as CIF will be played on this course in May,” said Royals head coach Aaron Solis.
Chad Visser of San Marcos was medalist with a low-round of 72. Niels Andersen had the second best score on the day with a 74 for the Royals.
“Sophomore Chad Visser had his first career medalist round,” added coach Solis. “We know we have a lot of work to do between now and May 18th, but this is a good starting point.”
With the victory, San Marcos improves to (1-0 overall) on the season.
