Santa Barbara High junior Amber Melgoza was named to the All-CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA girls basketball team.
Melgoza, the Division 3AA Player of the Year last season, was one of the top scorers in the state, averaging 33.5 points per game. She had a 50-point game in the CIF quarterfinal win over Summit of Fontana. Melgoza also averaged 8.7 rebounds.
Santa Barbara, the 3AA champion last season, advanced to the 2AA semifinals, losing to eventual champion Redondo Union, 59-54.
Redondo Union point guard Nao Shiota was named the Player of the Year and Seahawks coach Marcelo Enriquez was honored as Coach of the Year.
