It’s down to a four-horse race in Presidio Sports’ NCAA Tournament bracket contest presented by local tournament headquarters Santa Barbara Brewing Company.
The NCAA Tournament field has been narrowed down from its original 68 teams to Kentucky, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Duke.
One of three first-place brackets, “My Ingeneous Bracket,” couldn’t spell its own name correctly but was smart enough to have all four Final Four teams correct.
The other two brackets – “Laguna Blanca JV” and “Spartan Faithful” – have 3 of the final 4 in place. All three teams have the same amount of possible points remaining.
Laguna Blanca JV and My Ingeneous selected Kentucky to win it all while Spartan Faithful appropriately took Michigan State as the overall champion. There are various scenarios in which each bracket could win.
The darkhorse is LPStylee’s “My Grand Bracket.” LPStylee is currently in 8th place but picked Wisconsin to win it all. If the Badgers are able to upset Kentucky and win again on Monday, then LPStylee would come from behind to triumph.
The contest has prizes for the top 5, including gift certificates to Brew Co., Natural Cafe and Paradise Cafe. We’ll announce the winner next week.
There are three games remaining in the NCAA Tournament. The Final Four is Saturday with Michigan State and Duke meeting in the first game at 3 p.m. (PST) followed by Kentucky and Wisconsin at 5:30 p.m. The winners will meet in the national championship game on Monday.
