Friday’s match between Carpinteria and Nordhoff was a long battle that lasted into the night. The two teams relocated to Libby Park under the lights where the Warriors pulled out a 10-8 victory.
Carpinteria head coach Charles Bryant said the doubles teams of Francis Aguilar/Juan Hernandez, Jacob Ascencio/Raymond Cuellar and Sam Truax/Sammy Gutierrez all had clutch wins in the match. They claimed six of nine sets for the Warriors.
Jonathan Cleek and Bryan Taira picked up two wins each in singles.
The Warriors improve to 1-2 on the early season.
