The Bishop Diego boys tennis team completed an undefeated performance in the singles department en route to an 11-7 decision over Saint Bonaventure at the Municipal tennis courts on Tuesday.
Spencer Ekola failed to drop a single game and maintained his perfect record by improving to 9-0 on the season. Mikey Kelly also swept all three of his sets, one of which was a riveting battle against the oppositions No. 1 Jake Deverick. Christian Vasquez also swept.
Jake Stratford-Jones paired up with Cameron Roberts to go 2-1 in doubles, doing their part to solidify the win.
“The team fought through another very close contest today,” said coach Debbie Ekola. “Missing #2 doubles Cameron Krul and Jonathan Lindsey in the lineup. Our singles players really came through sweeping all 9 sets. I’m very proud of my teams’ performance. The boys knew what they needed to do for the team to win.”
With the win, the Cardinals improve 2-1 on the season and are set to hit the road and play Laguna on Tuesday.
