Peninsula won four of the final six sets on Wednesday to edge Santa Barbara High 10-8 in a non-league match.
The Dons were seeking a win on the road against the No. 4 team in Division 1.
“I was proud of how we competed. There was a lot of great tennis today and it was a fun match to be a part of,” commented Santa Barbara head coach Greg Tebbe.
Miles Hale swept his three sets as Santa Barbara claimed 5 of 9 singles sets overall. Jackson Powell and Jordan Rodnick also were able to sweep three sets atop the doubles lineup but Peninsula took the other six.
Santa Barbara (7-2) is off for two weeks until its next match.
