Despite an impressive undefeated performance from No. 1 singles player Spencer Ekola, the Bishop Diego boys tennis team fell to Laguna Blanca 14-4 on Tuesday.
The No. 3 doubles team of Andrew Ziehl and Chris Jablonka picked up their first set win of the season in a riveting 7-6 battle.
“We have a lot of work to do,” said coach Debbie Ekola. “It was a rough day for Bishop’s young and inexperienced players. We will continue to focus on the basics.”
The Cardinals fall to 2-2 with the loss and are set to travel to Carpinteria to face off against the Warriors on Tuesday.
