Santa Barbara High’s tennis team lost for the first time in eight matches this season on Wednesday in a 12-6 setback to Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills, ranked No. 9 in CIF Division 1, beat the Dons in both singles and doubles. In singles, Jackson Powell’s two wins were the Dons’ only points.
Miles Hale and Logan Lender showed strength together in doubles producing Santa Barbara’s only three-set sweep of the match.
“I think our team learned some valuable lessons today about dealing with the challenges that come with playing on the road,” said Dons head coach Greg Tebbe. “These lessons will help us be a better team going forward.”
The Dons will face another stiff test on the road next Wednesday at No. 4 Peninsula.
