A rough second half led to a 79-62 defeat for the Westmont men’s basketball team at 13th-ranked Concordia on Saturday night in a GSAC game.
The Eagles shot 60 percent from the floor (14-of-23) and made 6 of 9 from three-point range to blow open a two-point game at halftime. Westmont trailed 34-32 at the half.
“In the second half, we missed free throws and turned the ball over,” said Westmont coach John Moore. “When you are on the road, that is a recipe for disaster. When you do that, and you are as young as we are, things start to fall apart a little more than they should.”
Cory Blau scored 13 points and Daniel Carlin had 12 to lead Westmont (15-8, 7-3)
Ty Armsgron scored 22 points and Justin Davis and Martin Thomas tallied 13 apiece to lead Concordia (19-4, 8-2 GSAC).
