Moorpark built a 27-9 first-half lead and never looked back on Saturday in a 79-46 men’s basketball win over visiting SBCC.
Jeremiah Gray hit 6-9 from 3-point range and scored 20 in the opening half as the Raiders (15-11, 5-4 WSC North) took a 38-15 lead. Gray finished with 21 points and Austin Howell had 17.
The Vaqueros (4-16, 0-8) made just 5-29 in the first half (17.2 percent) while Moorpark was shooting 40 percent. The Raiders knocked down 8-21 from beyond the 3-point arc and the Vaqueros were 1-10.
Thomas Walker scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half for SBCC. The 6-7 sophomore hit 8-11 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Moorpark dominated the boards, 51-29.
For the game, the Raiders outshot the Vaqueros 44.8 to 32.2 percent and outscored them from long range 33-9.
SBCC travels to first-place Cuesta on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. game.
