The Carpinteria girls soccer team secured its first CIF victory in Warriors history with a gratifying 2-0 defeat over Santiago of Garden Grove on Thursday in a Division-6 contest.
The first goal came midway through the first half Natalie Saito rifled in a close shot off the assist from Jenny Alaniz.
A Lesly Zapata header off a Monica Garcia corner kick marked the second and what turned out to be final goal of the game.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 15-7-1 overall.
