Carpinteria had a tough time finding the back of the net on Tuesday, doing it just enough to secure a 2-1 Frontier League victory over Villanova.
The Warriors took 23 shots to score their two goals.
“We just really struggled putting the ball away. We had good chances and great chances and it seemed all of them were just missing,” noted Warriors coach Charles Bryant.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead halfway through the first half.
Kelsie Bryant equalized before halftime by taking a long pass from defender Monica Garcia to score. Bryant scored again in the second half, taking a soft pass from Giselle Estrada on an indirect free kick and punching it home from 30 yards away.
Carpinteria (12-7-1, 11-2-0) will finish its regular season on Thursday at Santa Clara before CIF playoffs begin next week.
