Skyler Stokes scored 18 points and Sierra Hearron had a career-high 11 points to lead San Marcos to 42-30 non-league girls basketball win over Hueneme.
The Royals shot 61 percent in the first half and took a 29-14 lead. Hueneme went on a 10-2 run to start the third quarter. But Stokes was fouled on a made 3-point shot and converted the free throw for a four-point play, giving the Royals an 11-point lead going into the fourth quarter.
Roxy Sandoval had five assists for the Royals.
“The girls have worked really hard this year and persevered through a tough schedule,” San Marcos coach Chris Hantgin said. “I am so proud of them for sticking with each other and I’m proud of the fact that six different players scored. It was great team effort.”
