A strong doubles performance lifted Dos Pueblos over Thousand Oaks on Thursday, 10-8, in a non-league match. It was the season-opener for both teams.
The Chargers won 7 of 9 doubles sets, including 3-0 sweeps by Miles Baldwin/Vincent Villano and Mason Dochterman/Bryce Ambrose. The Chargers were without one of their top players, Joshua Wang, but Patrick Corpuz picked up the slack in the singles lineup with a 3-0 day.
“I appreciated the focus and toughness of the team today,” reported Chargers head coach Liz Frech.
Dos Pueblos travels to Campbell Hall next Thursday for its next match.
