There were no signs of any playoff jitters when Laguna Blanca played St. Paul in the CIF Division 7 boys soccer opener on Friday. The Owls erupted for six goals in the first half and won 7-1 on their field.
“We played a really great first half, by far the best first half we played all season,” said Laguna coach Daniel Torres. “They boys were prepared. We were physically and emotionally ready for this game.”
The Owls got goals from Ethan Tyng, Connor Curran, Sam Brown, Cooper Farrell and Damien Nunez.
“I really didn’t have to to that much coaching. They did everything we’d been working on in training,” said Torres. “Everyone showed up to play.”
