Mike Agnoli was a force inside in the second quarter, sparking Bishop Diego to a 51-40 win at Coast Union in a CIF Division 5A first-round boys basketball playoff game on Wednesday night.
Agnoli scored 10 of his 13 points in the second quarter, as the Cardinals outscored Coast Union 20-8.
“Mike was unstoppable down low and manhandled the Coast Union defenders,” Bishop coach Jeff Koval said.
AV Bennett kept things going for Bishop in the third quarter, scoring eight of his 12 points. Mitchell Cota added 11 points for the Cardinals, who host Lone Pine in a second-round game on Friday.
