Buena broke open a tie game with a 15-3 run to end the first half and defeated Dos Pueblos, 67-49, in a Channel League boys basketball game on Wednesday.
Jayson Williams hit a trio of 3-pointers and a shot inside the arc to help the Chargers tie the score at 17-17 midway through the second quarter.
Then Buena took over the game. The Bulldogs (14-4, 1-1) went on their 15-3 run and started the second half with an 11-2 run to take a 43-22 lead.
Sophomore Marcellous Gossett led the Chargers (3-15, 0-3 Channel League) with 13 points and seven rebounds, while classmate Dylan Shugart added 11 points. Williams also scored 11 points.
Deshawn Jackson led the Bulldogs with 15 points and Jordan Starr added 13.
