Jill Giannini celebrated her return to the Bishop Diego lineup by scoring all the team’s goals in a 3-1 girls soccer win over Orcutt Academy.
“She is a tremendous athlete with a great attitude who reads the game well,” Bishop coach Josh Rodezno said of Giannini, who was coming off an ankle injury.
Rodezno praise the play of central midfielder Emily Velez, right back Marissa Cordero and left back Judith Angulo.
“As a coach, I am very proud to see what we practice translate onto the pitch,” he said. “We still have a long way to go but our future is looking bright.”
