Ady Willet scored off a pass from Anyssa Lomeli late in the first half, and that turned out to be the winning goal as Dos Pueblos defeated Camarillo, 2-1, in a non-league girls soccer match on Monday.
The play started with the Chargers forcing a turnover.
“Anyssa found Ady with a perfect pass,” said DP coach Hugh Hollis. “Ady rounded the defender and scored in the bottom left corner.”
Dos Pueblos took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when junior defender Becca Burrato scored off a long throw from Malia Morales.
Camarillo tied the score in the 33rd minute on a goal by Jenelle Kent, who beat DP goalkeeper Paige Mathison with a well-placed shot.
Dos Pueblos improved to 5-5-2 on the season.
Hollis was pleased with the team’s performance in its final match before Channel League play.
“It was a good night out for DP. We controlled the game and connected well in the midfield,” he said.
