Carpinteria’s Kelsie Bryant scored twice for the Warriors on Thursday.

The Carpinteria girls soccer team explosive offense was too much for Cate to handle as the Warriors defeated the Rams 6-1 in a cross-town Frontier League matchup on Thursday.

Carpinteria’s Kelsie Bryant was the first one on the board. Monica Garcia’s corner kick found Bryant who finished with a header in the 10th minute.

Jenny Alaniz was able to find the back of the net for the second game in a row and a subsequent strike by Alexa Benitez closed out the first half with a 3-0 Warriors lead.

Once again it was Bryant getting things done in the second half as she tallied her second goal only a few minutes into the  half.  Cate answered back with a penalty kick by Isabela Montes De Oca.

Ava Gropper notched in her first goal of the year from about 10 yards out and the final goal came off a rebounded ball that was kicked in by Sofia Vargas.

The Warriors improve to 5-6-1 overall and 3-2 in league.
