Bishop Diego was defeated by Malibu 5-0 during the Tri-Valley League opener on Wednesday afternoon.
“Overall, there were small errors we continued to make that would have made the game look different,”said Bishop Diego head coach Joshua Rodezno. “Moving forward, we will focus on those key details and getting our injured starters healed back into the game.”
After Cardinals starter Claire Velez suffered a knee injury that took her out for the remainder of the match, the team had trouble building much of an attack.
Despite the loss, Rodezno gave high praise to senior right back Ashley Cordeiro.
With the defeat, Bishop Diego falls to 2-3-1 overall (0-1-0 league) on the season. The Cardinals play host to La Reina on Friday.
