San Marcos’ girls basketball team was defeated by Ventura 81-14 in a Channel League matchup on Tuesday night.
The Cougars shot an impressive 12-18 from three-point range on the night. Ventura is currently ranked 19th in state and 52 in nation by Maxpreps.
“They are faster, taller, and more experienced than we are,” said Royals assistant coach Aaron Solis. “However, we competed, did some good things, and will continue to learn and improve.”
With the loss, San Marcos falls to (1-20 overall, 0-4 league). The Royals head on the road to take on Santa Barbara on Thursday.
